ABOUT NICK HAIL

Nick Hail is a professional filmmaker and entertainer.

​

While still in high school, he started a YouTube channel, Nick Hail Entertainment, showcasing his acting and musical endeavors.

​

During his final year of high school, Nick Hail wrote, edited, composed (the score), shot, directed and acted in his first short film, Napped (2018), on an LG smartphone.  

​

This film ended up being the foundation for what is now known as "Peasant Style Filmmaking", a term which Nick coined to describe a form of filmmaking that encompasses the most creative storylines and innovative filming techniques which can be used for films without budgets.

In 2019 Nick enrolled at a film school, and released his next project, a Joker inspired short film called The Bad Guy (2019), which has been widely acclaimed and selected by multiple international film festivals.

While 2020 wasn't the best year for most people, Nick Hail was able to take full advantage of the lockdown. In June, at the height of the pandemic, he launched a podcast (on all major platforms) titled, Enter The Muse, with the first season having had 22 episodes.

 On the podcast, Nick Hail speaks to a range of South African as well as international guests. Among them was local comedian, Schalk Bezuidenhout, and Top 25 podcaster, Travis Chappell.

2020 was also the year that Nick Hail graduated from film school and while still under lockdown, he produced an experimental film, Body of Scars (2020), which focusses on the rise and fall of civilizations.
